How to Look Beautiful on Any Occasion
Posted on 21 January 2016
So you’ve got an event of some sort (birthday, office party, wedding, etc.) coming up soon, the pressure is on to look as good as possible, and you’re looking for a few pointers on how to look great for any of these occasions. Well, look no further! Below is a carefully-picked set of tips and advice just for you.
The first and most important thing for you to do in this kind of situation is to take care of yourself. No, not just the night before (even though it is the most important night). Take care of your body and your mind to the best of your ability at least three days leading up to the event. Of course, it is ideal to take care of yourself properly every day, but not everyone has the time or luxury for that. Just do the best you can, when you can.
Taking care of yourself involves many things. First of all, get plenty of sleep! The last thing anyone wants is to be bleary-eyed and half-conscious in the middle of a celebration. Getting plenty of sleep, the nights leading up to the event will not only ensure you will be completely awake and fully able to enjoy the event, but it will also prevent those pesky dark spots under the eyes that make you look like you haven’t slept in a week.
Also remember to eat enough and drink plenty of water. You’re definitely going to need that energy and hydration to look awake and alert. While you’re at it, bring a bunch of mints with you, in case your breath takes a turn for the worse. Bonus points to you if they dissolve in their mouth and you don’t need to spit them out (i.e. chewing gum). You wouldn’t want to be seen spitting a wad of that stuff out in public!
Make sure you are all clean and showered before the event. Exfoliating and moisturizing also help improve your look immensely, making your skin look vibrant and healthy. Apply deodorant and appropriate perfume before you go. While you’re at it, bring a bunch of mints with you in case your breath takes a turn for the worse. Beauty isn’t only about visuals, you know! Bonus points if they dissolve in your mouth and you don’t need to spit them out (i.e. chewing gum). You wouldn’t want to be seen spitting out a wad of that stuff in public!
Don’t cake on the makeup. Wear a tasteful amount, enough to accent your already-visible beauty. Dress appropriately, as well. Wear colors that fit the event you’re going to. For example, if you’re going to a casual event (like a close friend’s birthday party), be colorful and fun! Likewise, if you are going to someone’s wedding, try to be more modest with your clothes so you don’t appear to want to steal the couple’s spotlight. Make sure your hair is neat and healthy-looking, too. Use shampoo, conditioner, and brush it to whatever style you’d like. As long as you’re comfortable with it, you’ll be just fine.
On a final note, just remember not to dress to impress everyone else. Dress how YOU want to be dressed (within tactful bounds, of course). Life is too short to constantly worry about other people’s opinions of you, so just be yourself.
